Talabat Places an Order for Fraud Protection with Telesign

Talabat had a problem

Talabat faced a two-prong issue with regards to their users. First, they needed to reduce fraudulent accounts, but in doing so they couldn’t make their registration so complicated that new users gave up half way through. Furthermore, the original vendor they were working with to fix these issues was routinely coming up short.

Telesign implemented two factor SMS authentication for Talabat which simultaneously fixed both of their problems. First Talabat now knew that all their sign ups were linked to a valid phone number. This decreased fraud and also helped out on deliveries. No longer was a Talabat driver spending half of his day knocking on a door that would never open. Second, with Telesign’s SMS API, these SMS messages were coming to customers lightning quick, new customers weren’t abandoning the sign-up verification process due to text latency issues.
