How to Turn On 2FA for

By enabling two-factor authentication on your account you are requiring that an extra code, which can only be generated by an app on your mobile device, be entered at login. To enable 2FA on, go to the security section on your settings page. You must first be sure that your email address has been confirmed and that you verify your mobile phone number.

1. Once you have confirmed your email address and verified your phone number, log into Alpha and click on your username in the upper right corner. Go to your settings page.

2.  Click on Security. The page will show you options for enabling two-factor authentication.

3. Enter your current password and click on Enable Two-Factor Authentication.

You will then be directed to a page with a QR code that you must scan with a one-time password (OTP) app like Google Authenticator using your smart phone.

Enter the 6-digit OTP code it generates in the box below the QR code.  Click the Confirm OTP Code button to continue.

4. When the code is confirmed, you will see the page below which explains how two-factor authentication works.  

Tip: You may also want to consider implementing application-specific passwords on new apps that you use to increase your account security.
