Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. These are the immortal words of the wise sage Ferris Bueller uttered after a truly epic day of playing hooky from school.
It’s a nice sentiment, consistent with other idioms such as ‘stop and smell the roses.’ Enjoy things, stop working so hard! This is why I receive a zap every Friday at 5pm to inform me that happy hour has begun at my favorite pub. It’s not a demand, just a subtle suggestion.
But wait, what’s a Zap?
Let’s start from the beginning. Zapier is a software that connects apps together and automates workflow. It moves information between your web apps automatically, allowing you to focus on far less tedious tasks. I specifically use Zapier in conjunction with TeleSign’s SMS platform to give myself a little reminder that the weekend has arrived, but you could use it for so much more.
What are some other use cases of Zapier? Maybe you don’t necessarily check your email as often as you look at your phone. You could set up a zap that would shoot you an SMS any time you received an email from your boss. You could set up a voice message to let you know when it snows 12 inches in Tahoe. Thousands of workflows can be created with these triggers and actions.
TeleSign’s seamless integration with Zapier is set up with the goal of giving you a happier, stress-free life. Now the decision of what to do with that power is entirely up to you, and if you decide to use it to plan your own Ferris Bueller’s Day Off at Heavenly Mountain…well, we won’t blame you.
Ready to get started? Follow these easy steps!
Step 1: Signup for TeleSign’s Portal
Step 2: Signup for Zapier
Step 3: Choose an Integration
From your Zapier home page, click the the ‘Explore ‘ tab and find an app to select as your trigger. Once you’ve chosen an app, set it up as your trigger. Essentially, what do you want to happen before sending out an SMS or Voice message? Zapier will walk you through this.
Step 4: Setup your TeleSign App
If you already chose the action from the ‘Explore’ tab, the TeleSign app should already be in display. Otherwise, search for TeleSign in the app search bar at the top of your screen.
Choose SMS or Voice from the TeleSign options given.
Step 5: Configure your TeleSign app
Next, you’ll populate the parameters that TeleSign requires for those products. For example, SMS requires: Message, Message Type, Phone Number (including country code).
Step 6: Activate your Zap!
Make sure to activate it so it is showing in a live state.
Give your Zap a name
Turn it on…happy Zapping!
