PhoneID provides detailed information about phone numbers anywhere in the world, including phone type and registration location information. Since high rates of fraud are associated with pre-paid mobile and VoIP (voice over IP) phone numbers, PhoneID helps companies identify these anonymous, location-independent telephone numbers and decide whether to block or flag these users and associated transactions.

PhoneID is provided through a simple to integrate SOAP API and can be used as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with Telephone Verification.  Both products include phone number cleansing, which leverages TeleSign’s relationship with Telcos and internal heuristics to automatically correct improperly formatted phone numbers. On average, 10% of phone numbers are recovered by TeleSign’s phone number cleansing, resulting in better data and improved call completion rates.
