Los Angeles, July 29, 2015 – TeleSign, the leader in mobile identity solutions, today announced the launch of TeleSign Auto Verify, a new lightweight software development kit (SDK) for mobile app developers that streamlines the account verification process while providing a more reliable and cost-effective method than SMS-based verification alone.
TeleSign Auto Verify seamlessly integrates with new or existing mobile apps and verification processes and leverages a proprietary network signaling method to ensure greater completion rates without the need for one-time passcodes (OTPs) to be sent to the consumer’s mobile phone and manually entered, the way verification is most commonly experienced today.
“With the mobile platform serving as fertile ground for today’s cyber attacks, app developers know it’s essential to take a security-first approach to development,” said Steve Jillings, CEO TeleSign. “TeleSign Auto Verify delivers a frictionless registration experience by authenticating users ‘behind the scenes’ – no passcodes required. Now customers can protect account registrations and important transactions easier than ever. ”
This new method of delivering assurance removes the biggest barriers to account verification – user friction and low conversion rates – by fully automating the process and removing the need for user interaction. TeleSign Auto Verify also introduces a first of its kind subscription model that only charges for completed transactions and can provide standardized global rates regardless of where the user being verified is located.
“As we bring technological innovation to the one of the largest, oldest, most resilient industries in world – alcohol – we want to do it in a way that has our customers saying – ‘Wow, that was easy!’,” said Chris Vaughn, CEO Saucey. “Easily verifying the identity of users registering to the Saucey mobile app is critical to the success of our business and TeleSign has provided us with the most secure and streamlined way to get new users up and running with Auto Verify.”
TeleSign customers in markets including social, gaming, dating, Over-The-Top (OTT) and mobile commerce (“m-commerce”) are implementing TeleSign Auto Verify to simplify:
- Mobile App User Registration – Integrating it into a mobile app to streamline the verification of a user’s mobile phone number during account creation using carrier signaling instead of traditional SMS OTP to increase conversion rates and improve the end user experience.
- Transaction Verification – Increasing the assurance for high value transactions, such as money transfers, payment transactions, and password changes, by requesting and then verifying, in real time, a user’s phone number within their mobile app.
- Phone Number Verification – Ensuring an existing end user has a legitimate phone number attached to each account by seamlessly verifying the number in the background, while users interact with the mobile app as usual.
The new TeleSign Auto Verify SDK complements TeleSign’s existing Push Verify SDK to provide a complete solution for verifying and securing user accounts within native mobile applications. TeleSign Auto Verify is available today as a 34Kb SDK for Android versions 4.1.x and higher, and is easily embedded into new or existing mobile apps and verification processes, while giving developers complete control over the branding and user experience.
The SDK is fully secured using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) and detailed reporting provides insight into user verification and completion activity. The SDK also includes detailed documentation, sample source code, easy integration of JAR files into project libraries, and token service implementation guidelines.
