TeleSign Announces Partnership With Swisscom

Los Angeles, Nov 11, 2015 – TeleSign, the Mobile Identity company, today announced an agreement with Swisscom, Switzerland’s leading telecom provider which will lead to the development and delivery of new identity services to enable greater online account security, verify financial and ecommerce transactions, and prevent fraud for customers.

Since its inception, TeleSign has championed the concept of Mobile Identity – identifying users based on key attributes of their mobile number, device and behavior. This partnership will leverage Swisscom’s identity insights and feed into TeleSign’s verification APIs and the data and analytics behind phone numbers around the world.

“Identity Services are the latest addition in our OTT portfolio where we aspire to link Telco identity with online accounts such as banking or social networking  to prevent fraud, and with e-commerce sites and apps to enable fast and secure checkouts,” said Dheeraj Soni, Head of OTT services Swisscom. “We looked to TeleSign as the pioneer in the Mobile Identity space to be our first partner in launching our Identity Service portfolio. By working with TeleSign, we can bring offerings to market which will make our customers’ experience significantly safer and more convenient.”

“Partnering with the world’s most trusted telcos like Swisscom is a key part of our strategy of providing local expertise to our global customer base,” said Steve Jillings, CEO TeleSign. “The most prestigious online and mobile brands in the world turn to TeleSign to increase assurance around the identity of their users and reduce the risk of fraud. We rely on quality partners like Swisscom to help us achieve this.”

This new partnership allows both companies to better serve its customers with new services which will become available in 2016.
