RadPad is a renter-focused mobile marketplace that allows renters to find apartments, apply, sign a lease and pay their rent. RadPad also allows landlords of those apartments to qualify renters in real time, sign leases and receive their rents electronically through the site.
RadPad began experiencing fraudulent activity from fake users from within their “Pay My Rent” feature, where users can pay rent online with debit and credit cards and RadPad, in turn, pays their landlord. RadPad was looking for new ways to gain a more effective identity assurance process beyond SMS phone verification and email verifications. They wanted additional ways to identify potential fraud.
RadPad implemented Score and PhoneID. They integrated Score for its fraud risk assessment scoring to assist them in making decisions to allow, flag or block users based on several key risk indicators. PhoneID allows them to compare various phone number data attributes against the data they collect from their renters and landlords. This has helped them expand their fraud-decision methodology and gain greater identity assurance.
