This Saturday, January 28th, marks the 10th annual celebration of Data Privacy Day here in the United States and Canada. Data Privacy Day, which is hosted by the National Cyber Security Alliance, happens every year on January 28th and commemorates the 1981 signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection.
As an official Champion of Data Privacy Day, TeleSign is proud to support and promote the importance of privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust for all people around the world. In our work helping to protect billions of end-user accounts for many of the world’s largest web properties, we recognize the importance of privacy and the value it holds for consumers and businesses alike. We continue to innovate to better protect user’s accounts and personal information, and we’re proud to work on campaigns such as our #TurnOn2FA campaign to raise awareness for ways consumers can protect their own privacy, such as by turning on two-factor authentication (2FA).
The #TurnOn2FA campaign, which was created by TeleSign and hosted at www.turnon2fa.com is sponsored by Intel, Dashlane and Intermedia. The campaign goal is to educate consumers on the importance of 2FA and how to turn it on for their accounts. The campaign includes a pledge people can take to turn on 2FA for at least one account, and those that tweet about it with #2FA4PIZZA are automatically entered into a contest to win free pizza March 3, 2017.
