Today officially marks the beginning of the 12th annual National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). Occurring every October, the month is led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), the nation's leading nonprofit, public-private partnership focused on helping all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online. In recognition of how valuable the Internet is in our daily lives and the collective effort needed to protect it, the theme for the month is "Our Shared Responsibility." Each week will focus on a unique theme designed to raise awareness across a range of topics. Kicking things off, this week will focus on "Best Practices for All Digital Citizens."
At TeleSign we believe the greatest step you can take to secure your online life is to turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for all of your online accounts. In recognition of this important practice, we've created a free resource, TurnOn2FA, that provides step-by-step instructions on how to #TurnOn2FA for more than 150 sites like Facebook, Google, Twitter and many more.
We're proud to be an official Champion of NCSAM 2015, which is energizing partners and people everywhere to play a role in protecting themselves and helping make the Internet more secure for everyone. Want to learn more? Join us online next Tuesday Oct 6 at 1:30-4:00 p.m. EDT for a live streamed event from Google's Washington DC office. TeleSign CTO Charles McColgan will join representatives from the NCSA, Google, Facebook, the White House and others to educate on how to be #cyberaware all year long. We hope you can join us!"
