Broadband Minister, Senator Stephen Conroy, has launched the first “National Change Your Password Day” in a effort to increase people’s vigilance with their online security.
The Senator suggest people change their passwords twice a year as well as create passwords with both letters and numbers in order to limit fraud online and to protect personal information. This is especially important today because online fraud is on the rise and people are increasingly using computers for every aspect of their life-both business and social.
Telesign’s award-winning Phone Verification adds an even stronger layer of security. Hackers have programs that can easily guess passwords and thus reveal important private information, but since most of them are unwilling to give their phone number they will simply move on to a less protected site when confronted with phone verification.
Changing your password twice a year is a good idea, but Telesign’s phone verification is the most secure way to ensure you are protected online.
